2018 will probably be another good year for Director Arvin  “Kadiboy” Belarmino. The internationally acclaimed Filipino Director has once again captured the attention of cinephiles not only in the Philippines but also abroad!

Last December 9, 2017, the Bangkok Screening Room in Thailand held a premier screening of Kadiboy’s first feature film, “The Death of Pablo”. But that’s not the only interesting event that happened for Kadiboy in 2017.

He also won Best Film and Best Director in Pelikultura: The Calabarzon Film Festival; his short film “Nakaw” made it to Festival de Cannes 2017; “Nakaw” won the Best Short Film in Gawad Urian; he returned as a finalists in Cinemalaya’s Short Film category; “The Death of Pablo” was exhibited in QCinema International Film Festival; he won Best Director for Short & Sweet Film Festival in Hollywood L.A.; he won Best Fiction Film in the 3rd Minikino Film Festival in Jakarta Indonesia; he also won The Feather of Excellence in The Festival de Cine Paz Mindanao.

We’re claiming it! Kadiboy’s achievements last year will surely extend this year.

About “The Death of Pablo”

“It’s like [the] cinema version of Journey to the End of the Night by Louis Ferdinand Celine, [a] French Author. Pure guts and bile and rant and cry of despair at the world. Very appropriate for what’s happening in the country now.” – Teddy Co, National Committee on Cinema Chair

The Death of Pablo is Arvin Kadiboy Belarmino’s first feature-film outing and veering from the sublime to the grotesque.

As Pablo’s mind unravels, many dimensions of his life appear and his demons—disturbingly familiar to many—surface.

Pablo’s battle to reconcile the rational brain with the irrational mind is pervasive and unsettling.

Pablo lives. In our world.
